About

From the Company

ProFrame™ Thermal Break Wall System is offered as a lumber package consisting of our manufactured plates and studs. With heating costs on the rise and municipal jurisdictions mandating step code regulations, we see the necessity and demand for better building materials and environmental responsibility. Our aim at ProFrame™ is to provide the industry with a material that checks all the boxes; performance, reduced environmental impact and ease of use.

Performance: It has become more and more clear that the thermal performance of the building envelope can be greatly affected by thermal bridging. Incorporating a thermal break into your exterior wall assembly will greatly reduce the transfer of unwanted temperatures by eliminating the pathway of heat flow. Framing with ProFrame™ is an effective solution to this and is a great addition to the overall building envelope design.

Reduced environmental impact: ProFrame™ uses 30% less lumber than a standard dimensional 2×8. The fact that it consists of 2 (2×3) vs. a solid 2×8 makes it even more desirable , giving the opportunity to use smaller stock timber or creating higher yields out of larger stock. The added performance of the deeper stud allows for more insulation and less thermal exchange. These benefits alone will reduce energy consumption and your carbon footprint significantly. The use of lumber also increases carbon absorption. At ProFrame™, we encourage builders and consultants to design wall assemblies with materials that use environmentally responsible manufacturing processes while avoiding ones that are toxic or use ozone depleting substances.

Ease of use: Other than what is noted in the installation manual details, ProFrame™ may be used in the same fashion as a typical wall stud. The standard sizing allows the builder to use and install our product with the same tools and techniques as they did when constructing with solid sawn lumber. ProFrame™ dimensions are 1 ½” x 7 ¼” and is fully interchangeable with a standard 2×8. This includes limited compatibility with hardware that is designed for 1 ½” thick and 7 ¼” depth material. Should a detail require solid stock 2×8, such as; a bottom or top plate, point load, jack stud or other, ProFrame™ should in most cases match the thickness and depth.

We welcome inquires and are happy to answer any further questions you may have regarding our product. Please give us a call, we are looking forward to doing business with you!
